Volunteering Opportunities at the Zoo

The Life Experience Internship is for individuals interested in gaining experience in the zoo field or wanting to explore this career path. This internship is not for school credit and anyone participating must 18 years or older.

College Internship Interns receive credit from their school by participating in the three-month program and typically completing a project or other requirement as determined by their school and the Director of Animal Collections.

Job shadowing opportunities are available to students attending middle school or high school and must be associated with class credit.  A job shadow experience is typically scheduled for a full day 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or a half day can be arranged.
